How to Measure Your Wrist for a Cuban Link Bracelet: Fit Guide
Share
A Cuban link bracelet should feel substantial without fighting your wrist. The best starting point is your actual wrist measurement—not the size of another bracelet that may use a different clasp, link shape or width.
Step 1: Measure where you actually wear your bracelet
Use a soft measuring tape and wrap it around the part of your wrist where the bracelet will sit. Keep the tape flat against the skin without pulling it painfully tight. If you do not have a soft tape, use a piece of string, mark the overlap point and measure the string against a ruler.
Write down the measurement before adding any extra room. That number is your wrist circumference.
Step 2: Decide how you want the bracelet to fit
Fit is personal. A snug fit stays closer to the wrist and moves less. A standard fit leaves comfortable movement without feeling loose. A looser fit hangs farther down the hand and moves more throughout the day.
Do not assume one fixed amount of extra room works for every Cuban. Wider links take up more space around the wrist than thin chains, and thicker bracelets can feel tighter at the same nominal length.
Why width changes the way the same length feels
An 8mm Cuban and a 20mm Cuban can share the same listed bracelet length but feel very different. Larger links need more room to curve around the wrist. As width increases, the bracelet becomes more substantial and the inside fit can feel closer.
This is one reason we recommend choosing width first, then confirming the bracelet length that produces the fit you want. If you are moving into a much wider bracelet than you normally wear, ask us before ordering rather than assuming your usual size will feel identical.
Common bracelet-sizing mistakes
Measuring another bracelet instead of your wrist: Different clasp styles and link constructions can make two bracelets with the same outside length fit differently.
Pulling the measuring tape too tight: You want your real wrist circumference, not a compressed measurement.
Ignoring width: A large 18mm or 22mm Cuban occupies more space around the wrist than a narrower piece.
Choosing only by appearance: Photos are useful for style, but the best fit starts with your own measurement.
What if your wrist falls between available sizes?
If you fall between sizes, think about your preferred movement and the width you are ordering. A buyer who dislikes bracelet movement may prefer the closer option, while someone who wants more drape may prefer additional room. For very wide Cubans, it is especially useful to confirm the fit before production begins.
Exotvio pieces are made to order, so sizing decisions should be made carefully before the build starts.
Match the bracelet to your overall look
Width determines the visual character. An 8mm or 10mm bracelet gives a cleaner daily profile. Mid-range widths create stronger presence without reaching maximum scale. Large widths such as 18mm, 20mm and 22mm are intentionally bold and feel much more substantial on the wrist.
